Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Chinggis Khan International Airport, our team will greet you and provide transfer services to your hotel. Depending on your flight schedule, we will arrange a visit to the National History Museum and a leisurely walk around Sukhbaatar Square. After enjoying breakfast, we will arrange your transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Khuvsgul province. Upon landing, our team will warmly welcome you, and we'll make a brief stop in Murun town for necessary supplies. From there, we embark on a scenic drive toward the Ujig River Valley, where we will set up our first night of camping. (Tented camping / Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Today's journey takes us through picturesque mountainous regions to Ulaan Uul town. Along the way, we will pause at the main Ovoo to offer prayers for a safe and auspicious journey. Following this tradition, we will resume our drive to reach our designated mountain camping site, where we will spend the night amidst nature's beauty. (Tented camping / Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

As we journey through the enchanting Darkhad Depression, our next stop brings us to the Khogorog River Valley, where we will have the opportunity to visit a welcoming nomadic family. Immerse yourself in the rich culture of the locals as you interact with the family and gain insights into their way of life. For an authentic experience, we will spend the night in a traditional Mongolian ger provided by the hospitable family. (Ger stay / Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Following a brief instruction on horse riding, we set out on an adventurous journey towards Taiga, the region inhabited by the Tsaachin reindeer herders. Due to the rugged terrain, we will transfer our luggage and supplies by horse, a journey that can range from 2 to 9 hours depending on the location of the tribe camp. Enjoy an immersive experience by spending the night in traditional teepees, embracing the unique culture and surroundings of the Tsaachin tribe. (Teepee / Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Immerse yourself in the daily rhythms of the Tsaachin people as you participate in their unique traditions, including milking reindeer and processing milk products. Even if you're new to horse riding, we've organized successful trips to the Taiga for beginners. Your Tour Leader will give detailed instructions on riding techniques, including seating, reins handling, and more. Our team members are First Aid trained, ensuring your safety throughout. Following your guide's instructions minimizes the risk of injuries on the soft, mossy ground.

Riding times vary daily, usually between 2 to 8 hours, including breaks and meals. Visits to local herdsmen or sightseeing are part of the riding hours, ensuring a balanced and enjoyable experience tailored to weather and group pace.

We offer various alternative activities like fishing, photography sessions, or mountain hikes. Let us know your interests, and we'll customize the tour for you and your group, prioritizing your satisfaction and enjoyment in Mongolia.

If you're confident in horse riding, you can ride with your child during the Taiga reindeer people excursion. If not, we can arrange an additional local horse guide for your child's safety and enjoyment. Your peace of mind matters to us.

We'll stay in teepees for two nights for a traditional Taiga experience. Before reaching the Reindeer people, we'll stay near a local family in gers, traditional Mongolian dwellings. Camping in 2-person tents suitable for 3 seasons follows, with gender-segregated rooming unless tent mates are partners. Solo tent occupancy incurs a supplement charge. We provide warm camel wool blankets and waterproof mattresses, but a warm sleeping bag is recommended for added comfort, especially in chilly weather. Shower and toilet tents will be available except during the Reindeer Herders stay, where we'll share their facilities. In Kharganat, we'll stay in a ger camp, ensuring a blend of tradition, comfort, and practicality.

Our chef prepares Mongolian and European meals with packed lunches on travel days or specific activities. Please inform us of dietary needs or allergies beforehand. We provide mineral water, tea, and coffee, excluding soda and juice.

While not available for purchase, you can enjoy reindeer milk tea during your stay with a local reindeer family. Some families may sell cheese. With permission, you can experience riding a reindeer briefly, enhancing your unique journey.

The standard baggage allowance for domestic flights within Mongolia usually comprises a total of 15 kilograms, with 10 kilograms designated for checked baggage and 5 kilograms for carry-on luggage. If you exceed this allowance, airlines may charge an additional fee ranging from 3000 to 5000 Tugriks per extra kilogram, subject to the specific policies of the airline you're flying with.

Certified English-speaking and experienced Tour Leaders and guides will lead your tour, accompanying you throughout the journey and even after your departure.
